Pretty-printing is a review aid, while minification is useful for compact transport. The tool focuses on syntax; it does not validate the document against an external schema or decide whether an XML payload is acceptable to an application.

Can the formatter validate an XSD?
No. It checks the XML syntax. XSD or application validation requires the schema and rules used by the receiving system.
Why did whitespace change the document?
Whitespace can be meaningful in mixed content. Inspect documents that contain text nodes rather than assuming every formatting change is semantic-free.
Does formatting resolve namespaces?
It preserves the XML structure and namespace declarations; it does not verify that the namespace URI matches an application contract.
