Acerca de Imagen Base64
Convert images to and from Data URLs
Data URLs are convenient for small previews, test fixtures, and API payloads, but they make documents larger than the original binary file. Use this tool to inspect the exact media type and payload before embedding it in HTML, CSS, or a request.
Cómo usar esta herramienta de desarrollo
- Choose image-to-Base64 or Base64-to-image mode.
- Upload an image or paste a Data URL/Base64 value and review the detected media type.
- Convert the value, inspect the preview, then copy the text or download the decoded image.
Privacidad y tratamiento de datos
Image bytes are processed in the current browser. They are not intentionally uploaded to Dev Tools; clear the page when working on private images and avoid sharing a generated Data URL that contains sensitive content.

Preguntas frecuentes
Is a Data URL the same as Base64?
No. A Data URL includes a media type and a Base64 payload, while a raw Base64 value contains only the encoded bytes.
Does Base64 make an image smaller?
Usually not. Base64 adds overhead, so it is best for small inline assets and transport formats rather than general file compression.
Can this tool change the image format?
It preserves the detected image bytes when decoding. Use an image editor or an image conversion tool when you need a different format.
